The Center for Commercialization of Advanced Technology (CCAT) is a partnership between academia, industry, and government. CCAT facilitates discoveries of technologies that address priority DoD and homeland defense needs from the research laboratory to the commercial marketplace and finally, to the battlefield.

Supported by Congress and funded through the Office of Naval Research, CCAT San Diego has been operational since July 1, 2001. The principal partners include San Diego State University (SDSU) Research Foundation and the Entrepreneurial Management Center; the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) Jacobs School of Engineering, von Liebig Center for Entrepreneurism; CONNECT; and the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center San Diego (SSC SD).
